Sabs Gilchrist

​As the Manager of Scholar Programs, Sabs Gilchrist manages the implementation of current and new Wallin Scholar programming and initiatives.

Sabs credits her success as an undergraduate student at Averett University (B.A. in Theatre Arts, stage management focus) to the impact staff and faculty made in and out of the classroom. Since then, she has been committed to a career in supporting and empowering students. From work as an admissions counselor, to student life, to managing co-curricular programs and high-impact practices, Sabs has had the honor of working with students at multiple points in their undergraduate journey.

In and out of work, Sabs is a learner at her core! In her free time, she takes online courses with Colaisde na Gàidhlig in Nova Scotia with a goal to become fluent in Scottish Gaelic and seeks to learn more about allyship in language revitalization work with Gàidhlig and other indigenous languages. She also loves having time to be goofy and creative with her husband and two adorable cats.
