Rachel King-Siert is an enrolled and active member of the Red Lake Nation of Northern Minnesota. As a first-generation student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, she navigated through her educational path with the help of dedicated student support staff, finishing her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Hearing, and Language Sciences. Then carried on earning a Master’s in Education-Youth Development with a focus on learning through community and experiential learning from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Rachel has dedicated her work to the right and benefits of equal education opportunities. She is working to empower community members to get involved in the education of community members, young and old. Through both traditional indigenous learning and our schooling system, she is passionate about working toward a balanced education.
Rachel enjoys spending time with her family. She is a talented seamstress, beader, and leatherworker. She loves sharing her skills with young people in her community.
