Originally hailing from the East Coast, Abby studied Sociology and French at Grinnell College in Iowa before moving to Seattle for a year of service. Eventually, graduate school brought her to Minnesota, which she has now called home for 10 years.
At the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, Abby studied Sociology, focusing specifically on youth, culture, identity, education, and inequality. She has held a variety of jobs, ranging from tutor to coach to program coordinator. Throughout her career, Abby has enjoyed working in partnership with folks to help discern a path to get them where they are going and is excited to continue this journey at Wallin EP.
Most recently, Abby worked as Assistant Director of Admissions for Macalester College, focusing on multicultural recruitment and managing the Questbridge National Match program. Professionally and personally, she is interested in access, inclusion, equity, and success in education, and is always looking for opportunities to grow.
Abby enjoys reading (autobiography and YA literature), hanging out with her cats (a.k.a. The Best Cats Ever), and spoiling her nephew (also The Best Ever). She is a fan of making/consuming coffee, ice cream, and baked goods of all kinds. She also loves discussing personality tests and will happily engage in the Nature vs. Nurture debate for hours on end.
