Janet Benson is a Scholar Advisor and has been affiliated with Wallin Education Partners since its beginning. As an Advisor, she believes that a kind, but intrusive and intentional model of advising is most effective in developing student’s skills for success in college. She has been a tireless advocate for students for decades, especially low-income students. Her original teaching career began in Home Economics and evolved into expertise in teaching and advocating for English Language Learners. Simultaneously, Janet taught interior design for evening adult education. Janet has a Master’s in Education and has taught for 44 years in public middle and high schools and as a college instructor. She has raised five children of her own and now thoroughly enjoys seven grandchildren. Janet is an avid reader and loves to travel.
